Nationwide Christian Protest Rocks Odisha Over Alleged Persecution

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The Rastriya Christian Morcha (RCM) of Odisha is spearheading a massive statewide protest on Monday, June 9th, 2025, mobilizing across all 30 districts to condemn what they describe as "growing uninterrupted atrocities and persecution on Christians" over the past year. The organization fiercely accuses the administration and government of being "silent spectators" to these alleged violations of constitutional and human rights.
In a coordinated effort, RCM district committees will converge at 8 AM on the morning of June 9th, a timing chosen due to the hot summer conditions and to accommodate morning office hours. The plan is to launch into powerful demonstrations complete with official banners and striking placards, followed by determined rallies and marches toward each District Collector's office. Between 9 AM and 10 AM, a crucial memorandum addressed to Her Excellency the President of India will be formally handed over to the respective District Collectors.
The RCM's impassioned call to action stems from an alarming rise in reported incidents of violence, discrimination, and denial of basic rights against Christians in Odisha and other parts of India. These include deeply concerning cases of denial of burial rights, social boycotts, and alleged attacks on churches and prayer meetings. The RCM, also known as the National Christian Front (NCF), is orchestrating these nationwide protests on June 9th to urgently bring these issues to the forefront.
The organization's goal is clear: to convey to the central government the unified and resolute stance of Christians against the escalating violence and atrocities. The RCM stresses that this is not merely a "Christian issue" but a broader concern for humanity, peace, and the fundamental values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. In a show of solidarity, the RCM is collaborating with other significant social organizations, including BAMCEF (All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation) and Bharat Mukti Morcha, to amplify their urgent demands for justice and robust protection for the Christian community.
